Celebrations & Memories

Friday, February 17,  we celebrated our Father's life with a Mass in his memory

Even though he is no longer with us there was much to celebrate on that fine day that was his birthday. You see, everywhere we go there is a little piece of the Wonderful Willy we use to know.                                                     AND that touches us more then we could ever say.

I took this picture last summer. It's the cross on top of Boston College High School that he and several other boys had a hand in making many, many years ago. Rumor has it, his name, along with the others,  is engraved on the back of this beautiful cross that reaches towards Heaven.  It seems appropriated to me to share this with you today as we celebrate the memory and life of a father and man  we all so dearly love.

Until Next time. . .

Lisa

  2. I know we all miss him terribly. That was such a nice thought, and....the cross was made when he was just a kid learning sheet metal work
in Boston he was about sixteen years old, long before I met him. Just one of the many jobs he had before me. We used to ride by that school and each time he pointed out the fact that he was so famous because his name was written in the sky.

  3. Dear One of Many Cuzzins,

I'm always so happy to hear from you.

Tell Andrew that his Uncle Bill only went to Boston College High to VISIT the cross he had "a hand" in welding. He never attended school at BCH. His mother took him out of school at a young age to go to work. Sheet metal work is one of the many jobs he had as a young kid. When he worked on the cross it was with a group of other boys. Just so you know ;) Our dad later went back to school and went to college.

Also, tell Andrew he can still be proud of his Great Uncle ~ The cross is still standing and as I said in the post we are told his -our dad- name is engraved on the back of the cross. To me that is what makes it special. :)

Hope to hear from you again soon,

    xoxox, Lisa

  5. When a loved one dies, and we know they have moved on to their heavenly address, there is MUCH to celebrate, though we will miss them here below.
